Inspiration
My work has always been inspired by my interest in anthropology, archeology and more recently, music. I try to define physical, spiritual, human, historical or futuristic relationships, identify their peculiarities and present these ideas through metaphorical and visual means.
My three-dimensional paintings focus on the potential of relief media to portray emotional and psychological exchanges in a physical way. Several shapes are used as indicators of myself and they react to the forms used to portray others and to the found objects I employ.
Found objects
These found objects vary from ancient forms to modern articles. Additionally, my choice of media allows me to explore and manipulate form to express relationships in any number of ways.
My color choices are based on emotional, intuitive and formal concerns. The building process is an investigation into both the physical and non-physical metaphors of each piece.
Relationships
It is not necessary that the viewer identify each particular relationship being portrayed. My wish is to convey a sense of the emotional, psychological and physical exchanges that occur in all relationships.
